David Piner PGDip MA MBACP AccCOSRT Online and face to face counselling.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my website.
FACE TO FACE AND ONLINE APPOINTMENTS ARE TAKING PLACE. FACE TO FACE APPOINTMENTS COMPLY WITH COVID SAFE GUIDELINES INCLUDING SOCIAL DISTANCING.
I offer face to face and online individual, couple, psychosexual therapy to individuals and couples and clinical supervision to other therapists. This can be online from anywhere in the UK using different platforms, or face to face in my large central London EC2 (the city, Shoreditch, Old Street, Liverpool Street) or Kent CT5 (Whitstable, near Canterbury, Herne Bay, Faversham) consulting rooms.
I have many years of experience working with individuals and couples on a wide range of issues both privately, in other organisations and the NHS. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am a trained and qualified Relationship and Psychosexual Therapist and an accredited member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).
As Associate Director of the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy and course Director of the Naos Institute's Advanced Couples Diploma, I help train the next generation of specialist therapists.
I take an integrative approach incorporating a number of therapeutic schools of thought, including humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
I would be happy to talk to you about your needs as an initial meeting which I would welcome you to attend without commitment. Clients may come with many issues including relationships, sex, bereavement and loss, anxiety, trauma, depression and low mood, loneliness, lack of fulfillment, anger and conflict, intimacy, crisis, shame to name a few.
My consulting rooms in central London and Whitstable, Kent are comfortable and confidential. There is parking available in Whitstable and so driving from Canterbury and the surrounds is a short trip. I also offer online therapy.
Session rates do vary according to whether you choose couples or individual therapy and whether you are seeing me in central London or Kent. Please see the 'Next Steps' page for further details.
I am a member of the following professional bodies and abide by their code of ethics:
British Association Of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP)
College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT - Accredited)
In addition, I work as a Clinical Supervisor offering supervision to psychotherapists and counsellors. I have a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision. I hope to add value to and support therapists' professional development. If you are a counsellor or psychotherapist looking for supervision, please feel free to contact me. I supervise therapists privately, at the mental health charity MIND and trainee counsellors at the University of East London.
As well as general supervision, I offer specialist supervision to counsellors and therapists working with couples, relationships and psychosexual issues.
